ACNE is a disorder of oil glands (sebaceous glands) of skin. It mainly affects adolescents but can occur in all ages. This occurs when oil glands become hyperactive and dead cells block the opening of oil glands. Accumulation of oil sebum inside the oil gland leads to bacterial infection and inflammation of the gland.
It is typically seen at body sites with well-developed oil glands most often face, upper chest and back.
Acne should be treated as soon as possible so that scarring can be prevented.
